The Sacred Mountain Adventure is for those who like a challenge. Aimed at hikers who like to gain a peak or two, we will attempt the summits of two important peaks in the Chachapoyas area.
You acclimatize to the Andean high country while exploring the famous Kuelap fortress and the archaeological wonder of Tajopampa. We switch into expedition mode on the fourth day, ascending, Condorsamana, the highest peak in the Department of Amazonas - over 14,200 feet (4,335 meters) above sea level. In 2001, a group of Vilaya Tours adventurers discovered an Inca ruin near the summit. The second mountain is the elusive Nevado Cajamarquilla which at 15403 feet (4696m) still has the title of Peru's northernmost snow peak, but only just. As the only snow peak in the Chachapoya domain, we believe there maybe evidence on the summit of ceremonies that took place 500 years ago.
The adventure is for confident and fit hikers who enjoy wild and high camps.
