Northern Peru Birding Tours

Northern of Peru is famous for its birding tour potential.  With such a varied ecology there are many endemic species.   At the coast at Batan Grande we can see the Peruvian Plantcutter and above Olmos the White-Winged Guan.  In the mountains of Abra Patricia home of the Ochre-fronted and Rusty-tinged Antpittas and Lulu’s Tody-Tyrant. With chances of seeing the almost mythical Long-Whiskered Owlet and Barred Antthrush.

The Marvellous Spatuletail can be seen at Pomacochas and of course days spotting the Yellow-Faced Parrolet, the Grey-Bellied Comet and the Great Spinetail have to be included.

Starts in Chiclayo and ends in Trujillo.

Includes Batan Grande, Olmos, Porculla, Jaen/Tamborapa area, Maranon, Pomacochas, Abra Patricia, Affluente, Leymebamba, Barro Negro, Balsas, Cajamarca and road to Trujillo.

Northern Peru Birding Tour 2 (15 Days)

Starts in CTarapoto and ends in Cajamarca.

Includes Tarapoto and Pumarini areas, Moyobamba and Rioja area,  Affluente, Abra Patricia, Pomacochas, Leymebamba, Barro Negro, Balsas and Cajamarca area.
