The Santa Ana Ethnohistorical and Religious Museum, Chachapoyas
The Ethnohistorical and Religous Museum at Santa Ana in Chachapoyas opened in 2009. It is located inside the Santa Ana Church which was the first Indian place of worship. Since first being built in 1569 the church has suffered considerably on numerous occasions due to seismic activity.
Inside are various displays and panels with information on the geography, ecology and climate of the department of Amazonas. There are displays of cultural aspects both current and past from the Chachapoyas area.
We will be including the museum in our tours whenever time allows.
