TOMBS AND CITADELS TREK

The Tombs and Citadels Trek takes you to some of our favourite places in the Chachapoyas area. You will visit some of the easier places including Kuelap, in preparation for your trek to Tajopampa. Tajopampa is located close to La Petaca, an enormous cliff with many tombs - we estimate something like 150 - and pictographs (recently featured in a Josh Bernstein Explores documentary). Higher than La Petaca is another cliff tomb site called Diablo Huasi. Coming out from Diablo Huasi we visit a citadel called Boveda surrounded by many ancient terraces.
